About The Founder

Christiane is an art collector and consultant with over two decades of experience in the Middle Eastern art market. Based in Beirut with an active presence across the region, she founded Christiane Ashkar Art Consultancy in 2017 following a 23-year career in Dubai's art sector.

Dedicated to promoting Middle Eastern contemporary art, she has collaborated with leading cultural institutions including the American University of Beirut Archaeological Museum, Beit Beirut Museum, L’Art Pur Foundation in Riyadh, the National Gallery Museum in Amman, and The Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Her consultancy brings together her deep expertise in art collection with a commitment to advancing cultural dialogue and supporting both emerging and established artists from the region.

Along with her advisory practice, Christiane contributes regularly to the cultural conversation through curated travel experiences to discover the dynamic art scene in the Arab region. She authors articles on curating and contemporary art for specialized publications and contributes to broader arts commentary in regional magazines—further extending her advocacy for Middle Eastern artistic expression.

Through her work, she bridges collectors, institutions, and artists, fostering greater appreciation and understanding of the region’s creative landscape in both regional and international contexts.
